Our racing season started last weekend, at the beautiful track of Zandvoort. Everybody was pumped and excited to get started, especially because the race was held on American Sunday, with thousands of American car enthousiasts!
Practice/warmup started problematic, with suspension problems, followed by a fluid leak, which cost us A LOT of tracktime unfortunately, and I was not able to find a rhythm, also still getting used to the car handles with the all the upgrades we have done.
Thankfully our super badass team was able to fix all issues, and we still managed to get a P4 time in the session.
Qualifying next, time to step on the gas! Good battle for P3 with our closest rival, who in the end was not able to complete his last lap, so we were all a bit tense, as we did not exactly knew where we stood with them.
With our P3 qualifying we made it to the finals. In these finals it all comes down to the single fast lap, so pressure is high. Everything seemed to click, and the lap was our best of the day, as it should have been! Even had the fastest time of all cars in sector 1! The top 2 cars were still way to fast, still got close in the end as the P2 car was not able to get his tires up to temp, but very very pleased with our P3 first podium of the year in the fist weekend! Absolute killer team effort!
Next race Hockenheim with the German Time Attack Masters! Very excited to add another historic F1 track to our list. The competition in Germany is supposed to be a lot higher than in the Netherlands, and we look forward to this next challenge!
Big thank you to our entire team, but especially to “big Lennie” Lennard, who helped prep the car every evening and weekend for the entire winter.
Also big thanks to our partners who believe in us and support us!
